This Week's Parent Prompts
July 8, 2026 - Fruits of the Spirit - Week 6: Kindness

This week, we discussed the fruit of KINDNESS.

Kindness is defined as: generous, helpful, and thinking about other people's feelings.

We learned that in God's kindness, He died for us so that we might be saved!

Titus 3:4-5:

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

Kindness like this is powerful. It can soften hearts, open ears, slow anger, and even change lives! Even more so, God's kindness displays the truth of the Gospel and leads us to repentance!

Romans 2:4-5:

Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

But this kindness requires a response from us. Will we harden our hearts to his call or will we soften and repent of our sin to receive the gift of salvation?

Questions to ask your student this week:

  • When was the last time someone did something kind for you? How did it feel? What was your reaction?
  • What are some ways God shows His kindness to us?
  • How can we practice God's kindness?
